Project Brotherhood
Why Project Brotherhood Exists at Our Melbourne Barbershop
At Empire Barbershop Melbourne, we believe the barbershop chair is one of the last safe spaces for men to open up. Every day, we listen — to stories of pressure, pain, pride, and perseverance.
In Australia, approximately 7 men die by suicide every day. Three out of four suicides are by men. And yet, countless others suffer silently. This is why Project Brotherhood was born — to bring awareness to men’s mental health. With every haircut, $1 is donated to programs dedicated to preventing suicide, supporting mental well-being, and encouraging real conversation.
Donation Progress
Thanks to your support, Empire Barbershop has already raised $100 for mental health initiatives in Melbourne.

$1 from Every Haircut Supports Mental Health
Each dollar contributes to funding real support systems through our partners, including Movember and local mental health groups here in Melbourne. We're proud to show that change can start with something as simple as a haircut.
Real Conversations Start in the Barbershop Chair
We’re not just cutting hair. We’re cutting through stigma. Project Brotherhood is our stand — for the fathers, sons, brothers, and mates who need support. From tough chats to silent nods, the chair is where it all begins at Empire Barbershop Melbourne.
"The strongest thing a man can do is open up. The barbershop chair is where healing begins." – Damian, Founder of Empire Barbershop
